Instrumentation & Electrical Lead in Fort Nelson, British Columbia

IPN Brainpower Consulting Inc. Instrumentation & Electrical Lead For our client, a Canadian oil & gas company, we are looking for an Instrumentation & Electrical Lead to join their team in Fort Nelson, BC. You will be part of our clients BC Shale Gas business unit. You will primarily participate in the maintenance of instrumentation and electrical equipment at the area plant and well sites (e.g. PLCs, RTUs, MVF transmitters, SCADA network communications). You will work together with Operations in pre-planning PMs as well as coordinating post job evaluations. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient completion of Preventative/Predictive (PM/PdM) tasks, assigned work orders through the Central Maintenance Planner, plant and well site turnaround scheduling and inspections, 3rd party support staff supervision, and root cause failure analysis. For this position our client considers candidates on a fly in-fly out basis. Responsibilities • Supervise on-site Maintenance Contractors (mechanical, instrumentation, electrical, etc.) while performing PMs and inspections • Confirm job scope is followed and documented • Ensure jobs stay within scope of work permits • Steward the work to ensure Contractors supply proper materials, tools and specialty equipment to perform tasks • Coordinate turnarounds and small projects • Participate in weekly maintenance team meetings • Perform equipment inspections to identify additional maintenance items • Work with Operations to develop job scope and pre-job plan • Supply Contractors with job scope and parts lists 1 week prior to the PM • Participate in post-job reviews • Complete required reports, and link reports into SAP • Ensure work completed coincides with contents of the invoice (parts/labour) • Identify any potential warranty issues • Ensure parts out for refurbishment are being returned and notifications are being updated • Assist with managing back-log of SAP notifications • Process notifications and work orders • Use PHD & ProcessNet tools for monitoring and trouble shooting, root cause analysis and predictive maintenance • Assist Operations with troubleshooting any anomalies • Identify ways to increase reliability and increase production • Assist with Operator training/mentoring as required • Participate in root cause analysis as required • Utilize Plan-Do-Check-Act in Maintenance activities • Assist with design and commissioning of new facilities and evaluating equipment specs • Participate in monthly Responsible Care (RC) meetings • Know and understand RC management system as it pertains to each job • Participate in formal and informal plant inspections • Participate in the PACE program • “Walk the Talk” Requirements • Journeyman Electrical or Instrumentation certification • Min five years instrumentation & electrical experience on Oil & Gas industry plant and well site equipment • Strong knowledge and experience with low and medium voltage electrical equipment, Allen Bradley PLCs, various instrumentation/controls, Realflo, data communications via radio, and SCADA • Strong team member • Strong communication, troubleshooting, and analytical skills • Organized, dependable, self-motivated and results driven • Proven technical skills and experience using a CMMS like SAP • Valid driver’s license Please apply via email by sending an adequate resume (PDF or Microsoft word document) to: Make mention of the exact position title in the subject line.
